Alright, so Day 2 of Crossfit... We survived! Prior to this WOD I thought that our first day would be the toughest. Although today I was proved wrong. I underestimated this workout (as I usually do) and didn't realize that Crossfit is all about momentum and pacing. So with that being said, right out of the gate I went as hard as I possibly could I crushed out the first three sets very quickly (Box Jumps, Jumping Pull-Ups, and Kettle Bell Swings) . I soon realized that this was a mistake. I began my set of Knees to Elbows slowly without kipping, but soon got into rhythm and was able to finish 25 without a break. After my body began to experience quite a lot of fatigue. where I had to stop once for my Sets of Push Press and for my Back Extensions (But this really didn't prove to be a big challenge). My last 3 Sets Felt like an eternity, Especially the Wall Balls. I pushed out 10 with ease but quickly reduced to 3, then 2, then 1, then letting the ball bounce so I could rest for a second or 2. this really ate away at my time, and I am looking to improve this skill. Finally the home stretch only Burpees and Skipping. I knocked out the Burpees pretty quick, and the skipping was tough because I'm not the best skipper! As I look back at this Workout I can see many things that I could have done that will save me that extra few seconds, and also put less strain on my muscles. Even though it may have not been the best time I possibly could have done. As I finished with my last skip, I felt proud of what I did and how much I Challenged myself.
When we decide to do this workout again at the end of the semester, I am confident that if I try my hardest and work hard every single day, I will be able to shave AT LEAST 2:30 off of my original time. In the end I am extremely excited to see not only myself but everyone to improve on there time and be proud of what they accomplished this semester.
